TENBY’S famous Boxing Day Swim will be splashing out from the resort’s North Beach for the 49th time this Christmas.
The legendary event is ranked amongst Britain’s festive highlights and is proud to have been named one of the UK’s top ten barmiest winter dips.
Over the years, it has raised approaching £300,000 for charities and good causes and attracts huge crowds who view the silly spectacle from every vantage point on and around the Blue Flag beach.
Fun on the beach, which includes a crazy raft race and fancy dress parade – gets underway at 11am, before the plunge at 11.30am.
The fancy dress theme will be announced soon.
Swimmers are then presented with commemorative medals around a cheery beach bonfire.
The Tenby Boxing Day Swim is organised by the Tenby Sea Swimming Association, which also runs the summertime Caldey Swim between the monastic island and the mainland.
Swimmers are encouraged not to get wet for nothing, and to collect sponsorship for either the swim’s nominated charities or their own good causes.
